V Cycle Social Enterprise

We see possibility in waste. And potential in everyone.

Founded in 2017, V Cycle 賢循環 brings together two urgent challenges: plastic pollution and poverty. We believe that giving waste a new purpose can also create opportunities for people. By empowering individuals and communities to care for their surroundings, we’re building a virtuous cycle - one that turns waste into value, supports livelihoods, and inspires hope for a better future.

V Cycle Unity 賢聚 - Our Charity Group

V Cycle Unity 賢聚 was founded on the principles of traditional Chinese culture, guided by gratitude, respect and care for people and the environment.

V Cycle (賢循環) operates under the V Cycle Unity (賢聚) umbrella. The group is guided by Filial Piety (孝道) of gratitude and respect. We seek to put these values into practice through various recycling and circular initiatives, community service and education, extending care from our families to the wider community and the world we share.

Awakening of our innate kindness.

We believe that true environmental change begins with human transformation. While infrastructure and technology are essential, it is the awakening of our innate kindness that creates lasting impact. Inspired by the educational philosophy of Venerable Master Chin Kung, a globally respected teacher who championed sustainability and community, we integrate environmental action with compassionate service.

Master Chin Kung’s educational philosophy drew upon the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and Amitabha Buddha, as well as the spirit of the “Record of Learning” (Xueji) in the Book of Rites (Liji):

In July 2017, UNESCO approved the ambassador-led establishment of the “Association of Master Chin Kung’s Friends at UNESCO” to promote his vision of interfaith harmony, religious education and traditional culture worldwide.

By presenting traditional Buddhism as a form of education, he offered both a theoretical foundation for spiritual cultivation and a practical path to follow. His contributions to humanity have had a far-reaching impact.

Since 2005, Master Chin Kung has organised and attended events at UNESCO promoting world peace, interfaith harmony and moral education. In March 2017, nine UNESCO ambassadors and representatives visited Toowoomba, Australia, where they witnessed how the interfaith cooperation he had championed could foster peace and harmony in a multicultural community.

Drawing inspiration from our teacher.

Throughout his life, Venerable Master Chin Kung expounded Buddhist teachings, promoted Buddhist education, and championed traditional culture. In his later years in particular, he actively fostered interfaith unity and worked for world peace through UNESCO.

Education As The Core Principle of Our Work

“When people are educated well, everyone becomes a good person. Whatever they do will then be good, and peace will prevail throughout the world. When people are good in thought, speech, and action, the natural environment responds in harmony: the mountains, rivers, and land flourish; the sun and moon shine clearly; and winds and rains arrive in their proper seasons. All of this is achieved through education.”

Traditional Chinese Culture

From family values to community care.

Traditional Chinese culture teaches us to cultivate our character (修身), bring harmony to our families (齊家), contribute to society (治國) and work towards a peaceful world (平天下). At the heart of this teaching is filial piety (孝), rooted in gratitude, respect and responsibility towards our parents, teachers and elders.

At V Cycle, we extend that same spirit to the wider community through four dimensions of care:

《禮記·大學》The Great Learning

《二十四孝》Twenty-Four Filial Piety Stories

養大眾之身 · Supporting Physical Wellbeing

養大眾之心 · Nurturing Emotional Wellbeing

養大眾之志 · Supporting Aspirations

養大眾之慧 · Growing in Wisdom Together

養大眾之身

Supporting people’s physical wellbeing

Just as we care for our parents’ health, we care for the conditions that support everyone’s wellbeing. Through recycling and responsible use of resources, we help protect the environment on which our communities depend.

養父母之身

養父母之心

養大眾之心

Nurturing people’s emotional wellbeing

Just as we want our parents to feel secure and happy, we want others to feel respected, included and valued. By creating meaningful employment opportunities for elderly people and bringing generations together, we foster companionship, dignity and belonging.

養大眾之志

Supporting people’s aspirations

Just as we honour our parents’ hopes for us, we help others discover their strengths and pursue meaningful goals. Through education and practical learning, we share knowledge and skills, encouraging younger generations to carry this work forward.

養父母之志

養父母之智

養大眾之智

Growing in Wisdom Together

Just as we work through challenges with our parents and grow in wisdom together, we collaborate with schools, businesses and communities to find shared solutions. By exchanging knowledge and learning from one another, we strengthen our ability to serve our society.

The four dimensions of filial care

By putting these four dimensions of filial care - physical wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, aspirations and wisdom, into practice in our personal development and professional lives, we embody the traditional Chinese teaching: 修身、齊家、治國、平天下‍ ‍“Cultivate yourself, bring harmony to your family, govern wisely, and bring peace to the world.” Those who bring this spirit to their work find genuine purpose and fulfilment in their profession, growing as individuals while benefiting others.

Organisational Structure

One shared purpose. Complementary roles.

V Cycle Unity 賢聚 brings together a charity (S88) and a social enterprise working in unison. Through education, community support, inclusive employment and circular economy solutions, we work together to create lasting benefits for people and the planet.

Commercial circular solutions for businesses: consulting, product recovery, recycling, materials and textiles, anti-insect functional products, and impact reporting. We use circular-economy projects to create real jobs for disadvantaged people in recycling and environmental protection.

V Cycle 賢循環

Founder’s words.

“For us, circularity is not only about materials. It is also about creating opportunities, supporting communities, and recognising the value of each person’s contribution.”

“I am deeply grateful to my mentor, Mr. Cheung Sau Man, who has guided me on my spiritual journey since 2010 and encouraged me to make a wish: to care for the environment while helping people. V Cycle is my humble effort to put that wish into practice.”

“We are forever grateful to all our parents, teachers, mentors, families, investors, fellow buddhist students, volunteers, colleagues, beneficiaries, clients, partners, and supporters. We are still learning, and without their help, trust, and dedication, there would be no V Cycle.”
