Our work includes commercial operations and charitable programmes, with different roles:
V Cycle Circularity operates commercially, providing recycling, materials processing and product-related services while creating inclusive work opportunities.
V Cycle Education Foundation (VCEF) provides education and community care programmes.
Unity One Charitable Association provides employment support, training and wellbeing programmes.
The two charitable organisations work together under V Cycle Unity. A commercial purchase and a charitable donation are different ways to support this work.

A social enterprise is a business that uses commercial activities to achieve a social or environmental purpose. It earns income by selling products or services, with its mission built into how it operates.
Hong Kong’s government describes social enterprises as principally reinvesting profits to advance their social objectives, rather than primarily maximising shareholder returns. There is no single universal definition.
-
Social enterprises connect business activity with community needs. They can create paid employment and training for people facing barriers to work, provide needed services and address environmental problems. Earning income helps sustain these activities alongside other sources of support. (sehk.gov.hk)
At V Cycle Circularity, this means connecting recycling and production work with employment opportunities for older adults and people facing barriers to employment.
-
V Cycle Circularity carries out recycling, materials processing and product-related work. These activities generate revenue and create employment opportunities, including roles for older adults and people facing barriers to employment.
-
Revenue pays for delivering our products and services, including wages, premises, equipment, transport and other operating costs.
Profits can support business growth and social impact activities, and may also provide returns to shareholders. Purchasing from our social enterprise is a commercial transaction—not a charitable donation.
-
Social impact is part of our everyday operations. We create work opportunities in recycling, sorting, assembly and packaging for older adults and people facing barriers to employment, directly and through NGO partners.
-

No. Product purchases, service charges and workshop fees pay for the stated goods or activities. Donations are separate contributions to a named charity.
-
Your donation supports the charity and programme named in your donation request, rather than being a payment to V Cycle Circularity’s commercial business.
Depending on the programme, it may help fund free plant-based lunches, education, employment support, training or wellbeing activities. It may also cover the staffing, materials and operating costs needed to deliver that work.
Before you donate, we’ll explain which charity receives your contribution and what it will support.
